Market Women In Nasarawa State have been enjoined to embrace the state health insurance scheme in order to avoid out-of-pocket payment for healthcare services.

The call was made on Wednesday by the Director of Marketi1ng and Business Development, Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency (NASHIA), Hadiza Dogara (Mrs) during a sensitisation and awareness campaign organized by the agency for Market Women Association held in Doma Local Government Area of the state.

Given the benefits of the health insurance scheme, Mrs. Dogara stated that it was essential for market women in the state to enrol.

She explained that the scheme is targeted at providing quality health care services to all residents of the state without facing financial hardship while obtaining medical care.

With reference to Super Eagles striker Sanusi Ibrahim, a professional player for the Club de Foot Montreal in Canada who funded 110 beneficiaries' health insurance premiums in Keffi through his SI14 Foundation, the marketing director urged even more with the society's affluent market women to utilise the agency adoption initiative to pay for the weaker and less fortunate members of the society.

Dogara (Mrs.), expressed gratitude on behalf of the agency to the market women for their time and audience, urging the leadership of the association to extend the sensitization to all its members.

In unison, the market women praised the state government's vision for launching such a significant initiative and assured the association's support for the program's success, expressing readiness to key into the scheme.
