Maikaya Development Foundation Visits NASHIA, adopt and make payment for enrollment of 750 vulnerable persons across Nasarawa State

The Maikaya Development Foundation has adopted and paid for the enrollment  of 750 vulnerable persons into the state health insurance scheme.

Visiting the agency on Thursday, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer  of the foundation, Alhaji Muhammed Musa Maikaya,  the Ciroman Toto observed that the adoption and payment for 750 vulnerable individuals throughout the state was evidence of the foundation's shared dedication to the welfare of people, particularly the vulnerable population.

According to Maikaya, the foundation was established with the express purpose of improving lives through  education,  empowerment  of women, youth, providing  health care services, promotion of peaceful coexistence among other activities.

Speaking on the adoption, Maikaya stated that the foundation is dedicated to enhancing quality of life through its Healthcare Support Programme. 

While reiterating the foundation's commitment to doing more to increase access to the essential services that everyone needs to prosper, the Ciroman Toto revealed that the 750 beneficiaries will be spreaded across the state's thirteen local government areas.

Welcoming the CEO and founder of Maikaya Development Foundation, Dr. Yahaya Bawa Ubam, the Executive Secretary of NASHIA, commended Maikaya and the foundation for their decision to sponsor 750 vulnerable lives across the state into the state health insurance programme. 

Represented by the agency's Director of Planning Research, Statistics and ICT, Dr Eric Simon noted that the scheme was largely created to eliminate out-of-pocket medical expenses for state citizens and residents towards attainment of Universal Health Coverage by 2030.

The Executive Secretary appealed to other NGOs, politicians and philanthropists in the state to join the crusade in supporting the less privileged and vulnerable persons in the enrollment onto the state health insurance scheme by adopting the model to sponsor vulnerable lives.

He reaffirmed the agency's unwavering dedication to offering healthcare services that are accessible, affordable, and effective.

Among others in Maikaya's entourage were the immediate past Commissioner for Health, Pharmacist Ahmed Baba Yahaya and Shuaibu Sani, the state governor's Senior Special Assistant for youth and student matters, and Chief Operating Officer of Maikaya Development Foundation and Hon.  Jaafar M. Loko, SA on Youth Development to the state governor.
