Nasarawa State Government restated its commitment to providing quality, accessible and affordable healthcare service delivery to the citizens and residents of the state towards attainment of Universal Health Coverage. 

Nasarawa State Governor, Engr Abdullahi A Sule has announced that the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency (NASHIA) would soon commence enrollment of additional beneficiaries from the informal sector, particularly indigent and vulnerable persons as part of the palliative measures aimed at cushioning the impact of the oil subsidy removal. 

The governor made this known today in an early morning broadcast on the Independence Day anniversary and 27 years anniversary of the creation of Nasarawa State,

The statement reads "My dear compatriots, I need to state that this Administration accords priority to healthcare delivery for the wellbeing of our people. It is for this reason that we have established the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency (NASHIA) to make healthcare services accessible and affordable. I am happy to state that the Agency intends to enroll additional beneficiaries from the informal sector, particularly, the indigent and vulnerable members of the society in addition to the existing ones as part of palliative measures to cushion the effects of the removal of fuel subsidy and to ensure universal health coverage.

The statement added "We will endeavour to provide affordable healthcare services and infrastructure at tertiary, secondary and primary levels for the wellbeing of the people of Nasarawa State."
