NASHIA PAYS SENSITIZATION VISIT TO MINISTRY FOR WOMEN AFFAIRS AND SCHOOL OF NURSING LAFIA

The Executive Secretary, Dr. Gaza Gwamna led Directors and other management Staff of Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency on a sensitization visit to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development on 5/5/2021 at the Conference Hall of the ministry. Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Gwamna stated the aims, objectives and benefit of the health insurance scheme. He called on the ministry to partner with the agency by fashioning ways of enrolling the vulnerable in the informal group (women and children) into the scheme, noting that the agency has so far enrolled more than 47,000 enrollees and some of them have started accessing health care. Responding, the Hon. Commissioner of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Halima A. Jabiru appreciated the Executive Secretary for the visit, assuring that the ministry would partner with the agency in order to achieve set goals. Furthermore, she said the ministry has registered a total number of 12 Orphanages in the state . Giving a breakdown of the 12 orphanages, she said 3 are located in Lafia, the state capital. On her part, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, .HRH Hauwa Oga disclosed that the ministry have a comprehensive data of vulnerable people in the state and assured that the ministry will make the data available to the http://agency.In related development the management staff NASHIA were at School of Nursing and Midwifery for the same sensitization visit held at the school conference hall ,the principal Mr zari Solomon of school nursing promised to invite the agency for more sensitization to the students in two weeks time.
