NASHIA 's Health Services Standard and Quality Control Department Holds BHCPF Facilities Quarterly Quality Assessment Meeting
The Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF) Quarterly Quality assessment planning meeting was held on Tuesday by the Department of Health Services Standard and Quality Control of the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency (NASHIA).
Pharmacist Kaki Maikudi Kudu, the agency's Director of Health Services Standard and Quality Control opened the meeting by highlighting its importance and pointing out that the Quarterly Quality Assessment is a requirement of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) in order to evaluate BHCPF facilities for the quality of services they provide to enrolled beneficiaries of the programme.
Assessing the quality of facilities under BHCPF for the fourth quarter was the goal of the successfully completed fourth quarter planning meeting.
The ODK Kobo collect checklist was carefully considered, and prior assessment reports during the third quarter were reviewed.
The decision was made at the end of the meeting to start the exercise on Wednesday. The meeting took place at the Conference Hall of the agency and was attended by assessors from the state Ministry of Health, the state Primary Healthcare Development Agency, NHIA, and DSMA amongst others.
In his closing remarks, Mr Polycarp Danjuma of the state Primary Healthcare Development Agency thanked the participants for their contributions to the meeting's success.
He tasked them with putting the knowledge gained from the meeting into practice on the ground to ensure that facilities are improved in the delivery of high-quality services.
Polycarp wished the assessors well and asked to report back on any difficulties they had experienced in the field.
