In order to perform services effectively and efficiently, civil servants at the Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency (NASHIA) have been charged to become familiar with and adhere to the rules of public service.

Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr Yahaya Bawa Ubam laid the charge on Tuesday, while declaring open a 2-Day workshop on Public Service Rules/Office Procedures Management for the staff of the agency, holding at De First Crown Luxury Hotel, in Lafia.

The session, according to the Executive Secretary, was designed to help participants become more in touch with the public service rules and familiar with office procedures, rules, and management in order to increase productivity, improve efficiency, and provide effective service delivery.

"I realised that many of them are not aware of the rules guiding civic service and how office is run, therefore i felt there is need to have this training to improve their performance and improve the service to the agency, state and to humanity as a whole" , Dr Ubam stated.

The Executive Secretary expressed gratitude to the training workshop's resource personnel and mentioned that the workshop's goal is to instil a passion for diligence, timeliness, and honesty in the service.

He urged the attendees to make the most of the chance the training offered them to broaden their knowledge and become acquainted with the regulations governing public service.

The lead consultant and a retired permanent secretary in the state civil service, Mr. Jarumi Dachor, who spoke extensively on the public service rules, commended the Executive Secretary of the agency for his developmental strides and his commitment towards capacity development and career progression of workers in the agency.

He said the workshop was organized in order to strengthen the capacity of the agency's workforce and to provide them with necessary knowledge about the rudiments of the public service for effective and efficient service delivery,
